Town of Wise to Host 46th Annual Wise Regional Fire School

Wise, VA – The Town of Wise is proud to announce that The Wise Fire Department will host the 46th Annual Wise Regional Fire School September 11th-14th, welcoming firefighters from across the Commonwealth of Virginia. This year’s school is expected to draw more than 400 firefighters, representing multiple fire departments from throughout the state.

The Wise Regional Fire School provides essential training opportunities for both volunteer and career firefighters. Participants will engage in a variety of courses, ranging from classroom-based instruction to hands-on training exercises. These classes will take place throughout the Town of Wise and surrounding areas, made possible through the support and collaboration of local and regional fire departments, who allow the use of their equipment and locations making the Wise Regional Fire School the success that it is.

Wise Fire Chief Jack Mullins emphasized the importance of this long-standing program, stating: “The Wise Regional Fire School, being the largest firefighter training event in the Commonwealth of Virginia offers firefighters and instructors the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge with a curriculum for new recruits to the most advanced level of the Fire & Rescue emergency incident preparedness.”

The Town of Wise, along with Mayor Caynor Smith and the Wise Town Council, is honored to once again welcome the participants of the 46th Annual Wise Regional Fire School. The event not only strengthens the firefighting community but also highlights the region’s commitment to public safety and professional development.
