Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING    

The Town of Wise Council will hold a public hearing on two ordinances one is an ordinance designating town officials authorized to declare an unlawful assembly in accordance with the Code of Virginia Section 18.2-406 and the other ordinance is an ordinance enacting the Town of Wise Comprehensive Animal Control Ordinance of 2025 and repealing previous ordinances; penalties, etc.at their regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday August 26, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Wise Municipal Building located at 501 West Main Street where citizens may appear and present their views. Following the public hearing, the council may take action to enact said ordinance.  The Town of Wise offers the right to free language assistance for people conducting business with the Town of Wise. The Town of Wise provides reasonable accommodation for people who require special assistance to participate in public involvement opportunities. People requiring aid to participate should phone (276) 328-6013 at least five days prior to the meeting. A full text of the proposed ordinance is available for public review in the Town Manager’s Office at the Wise Municipal Building, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours where it may be examined or copied by interested parties.
