Request for Bids

The Town of Wise, Virginia is now accepting sealed bids for its purchase of a new single axle class 5 4X4 Dump Truck/Plow Truck for the Town of Wise Street Department.  Bidders are advised that this procurement may be conducted on behalf of other public bodies.  Specifications for this equipment are available upon request at the Town Manager’s office located at 501 West Main Street, Wise, VA, or by phoning (276) 328-6013, or by writing to P.O. Box 1100, Wise, VA. Any questions should be directed to Adrian Dale of the Town of Wise Street Department at (276) 328-6119.   

Bids will be opened on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10:00 am, local prevailing time in Council Chambers of the Wise Municipal Building, 501 West Main Street, Wise, VA  24293.  All bids must be submitted on official town Bid Forms and addressed to Laura C. Roberts, Town Manager.  Envelopes containing a sealed bid must be marked “Dump Truck/Plow Truck Bid Enclosed”.  The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities if it appears in the best interests of the Town to do so.

Bidders must comply with the following:  President's Executive Order 11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; President’s Executive Orders 12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBA firms; and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  The Town of Wise in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights of 1964 (78 Stat.252, 42 US.C. Sections 2000d-2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration of an award.  The Town of Wise is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
