  • (Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-906), finding certain property is a danger to public health, etc., & ordering the owners lienholders to remove, repair, or secure the building (approximately .171 acres with brick house located on the old wise-Coeburn Road being known locally as the “Steffey property”-owned in part by Mayo B. Steffey & Bank of America as lienholder-Ordinance #8, 2002.
  • Allowing for real estate tax assessment of new construction substantially completed prior to November 1st of each year & collection of taxes due on a prorated basis- Ordinance #1, 2003
  • Electing to enforce the maintenance of existing structures provisions of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) establishing the regulations governing the maintenance of all existing buildings & structures to be known as the Property Maintenance code of the Town of Wise, Virginia & repeal of previous ordinances- Ordinance #10, 2004.
  • Pursuant to VA Code #15.2-900 finding the mobile home debris on the property located at the corner of Nottingham Avenue and Church Street is an imminent and immediate threat to life or property and constitutes a public health and safety hazard and a public nuisance and ordering the agents or employees of the Town to remove such nuisance and to recover the necessary costs incurred as provided by law-Ordinance #8, 2005.
